Appeal following armed robbery at Coventry home

We are appealing for information after a house in the Walsgrave area of Coventry was broken into by three masked men last night (Thursday 19 November).

We were alerted to an armed robbery on Sewall Highway at around 8.40pm, where three men knocked on the door and then forced their way inside.

They were armed with a knife and used a metal bar to cause damage to the house and also assaulted three women occupants. Fortunately, the women did not sustain any serious injuries.

The group managed to make off with the keys to a white Volkswagen Golf GTD car as well as a watch and phone.

Detectives investigating the case are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Stew Lewis from the Force CID team, said: “I am asking for anyone in the area who noticed anything suspicious yesterday or in the past few days to speak to us.

“You may have CCTV or dash-cam footage of some suspicious behaviour or know who was involved in yesterday’s traumatic raid.”

Enquiries continue and anyone with information is asked to contact us via live chat at west-midlands.police.uk between 8am and midnight, or call 101 anytime. Crimestoppers can be called anonymously on 0800 555 111. Please quote crime reference 20CV/285888V/20.
