Safer Travel have launched a clampdown on passengers who refuse to wear face coverings when travelling on public transport.

The operation follows the government announcement that from 15 June the use of face coverings is now compulsory on all public transport journeys.

We’ve charged a man over a knife attack on two paramedics at his Wolverhampton home.

Martyn Smith is accused of stabbing the man and woman just after midday on Monday (6 July) as they visited his home in Stephens Close to conduct a safe and well check.

Five men have been handed banning orders excluding them from bars and pubs in Solihull town centre. 

The orders were handed down after the five men pleaded guilty to a violent disorder that took place at the Walkabout bar in Solihull in 2018.
