Comic’s ride-along with Response shows policing is no laughing matter

Aussie comic Jim Jeffries has taken a ride-along with Birmingham Response teams to find out what it’s really like to police Britain’s second city.

In the six minute clip for Comedy Central, Jim is left dumbfounded by the way our bobbies police the streets with just “pepper spray and a stick".

The 40-year-old compares gun crime in Birmingham to levels in the city’s Alabama namesake and comes to the realisation that “cops seem less on edge here than in the US."

Jim rides along with Inspector Matt Minton and Sergeant Leanne Chapman and sees the pair stop suspected burglars and drug dealers. The YouTube film has clocked-up almost 150,000.
