Police appeal following a collision in Smethwick

A teenage pedestrian was struck by a Peugeot 107 at around 11.30pm on Wednesday night (28 November) on Norman Road, Smethwick. The 19-year-old was taken to hospital and is currently in a critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

Sergeant Alan Wood, from the serious collision investigation unit, said: “We are currently in the process of piecing together what happened in the run up to the collision.

“We particularly want to speak to the driver of a white van with a red and yellow square design on the bonnet who stopped at the scene to help, we believe he could be a key witness.

“We urge anyone else who may have witnessed the collision and hasn’t already spoken to us to get in touch as soon as possible."

The driver stopped at the scene and assisted with police enquires.
