Police appeal following serious collision in Smethwick

Police are appealing for information following a hit-and-run collision in Cornwall Road, Smethwick.
 
A pedestrian was struck by a Vauxhall Astra at around 12 noon yesterday (Tuesday 27 November). He was taken to hospital and is currently critical with life-threatening injuries. The driver left the scene.
 
The car was found by officers in Charleville Road, Lozells, earlier today.
 
Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We’re currently in the process of piecing together what happened leading up to the collision; collating and reviewing CCTV footage and forensically examining the car.
 
" I would urge anyone who witnessed the collision and hasn’t already spoken to us to get in touch as soon as possible."
