Security equipment donated by local Walsall businesses

Two kind-hearted local community businesses have donated specialist home security equipment to a 70-year-old woman who suffered a burglary last month.

Touched by an appeal from Walsall police to catch the offenders - who pretended to be police officers in order to gain entry - the local businesses contacted the Willenhall neighbourhood policing team to offer their assistance.

Willenhall burglary

The burglary took place on Devon Road, Willenhall on 30 October at around 5:55pm. Four men knocked the door and, when answered, pushed their way through. The victim was held down while the offenders searched her house before they fled with a quantity of cash.

An alarm system with an intercom has been installed in the victim’s home which she is delighted with as it offers some comfort after such a frightening experience.

The investigation is on-going and officers continue to appeal to anyone who has any information to get in touch.
